Until about fifteen years ago, pretty much everything on televisions was either a hand-drawn cartoon or a real moving image. But with the emergence of more complicated products and the concurrent improvement in visual technology ushered in by faster computers and better visual processors came a whole new type of animation that is now used in more than half of all TV commercials – computer animation.
Computer animations have allowed companies and marketers to make simplify complicated demonstrations because they facilitate the creation of 3D objects in action. Consider toothpaste commercials. Would you want buy a toothpaste that was demonstrated on a set of real teeth? Obviously not, and computer animation for commercials allows otherwise grotesque objects – sets of teeth – to become aspirational, in the case of the pearl white monoliths assembled and scrubbed by many ‘bubbles’ as in most toothpaste commercials.
Yet computer animators, just like hand animators, are still human after all, and so of course some are better than others. To find the best animation company,
Computer animation has applications beyond commercials. Animation is the perfect medium for the creation of logos and effects within media. Manipulating graphical objects in the necessary way to obtain professional results in animated video is increasingly common, yet with the constant creation of new animation technologies, it is getting increasingly technical and therefore requires only the most skilled animators. Yet for all its technical intricacies, animation is still preferred by many not only because it can create simulated 3D environments or make unpleasant objects more pleasant; animation can also sometimes be cheaper than full-fledged video production, especially if the entire thing is animated. Thus, commercials can have the ‘enhanced’ imaging afforded by an artificial image and cost less to make – an easy sell to media buyers, for sure.
