Within the current financial market, people are finding themselves with more leisure time and less (money to spend / expendable income), making keeping entertained by new and exciting activities more and more difficult. If getting off the couch is a priority, going to the movies has always been a standby for recessions. But because so much of what’s being made is so lousy, the entertainment value – in the true sense of the word – is dubious at best. Other entertainment – going out to eat, going to a bar – can easily cost the average desk worker his or her daily take-home pay. During these tough economic times, more and more people in the Los Angeles area are discovering that indoor go karting is a highly affordable way to have a pleasurable experience.
What makes riding on indoor karts so fun is part nostalgia, and part technological novelty; part competitiveness and part teamwork; and all adrenaline. For many adults, kart racing is a memoir of being a kid, though many are pleasantly surprised by some of the advances in the karts themselves: for one, they’re much safer; they’re faster; and they’re bigger, to accommodate real adults. Friends and family members love the competitive aspect– who can clock in the fastest time – and universally appreciate the steep learning curve that makes for times that are 20 or 30% faster after just a couple of races. Indoor go karting is one activity in which age is decidedly NOT an advantage. But groups who are competing among themselves will also find a sense of group pride as they try to make all the top times versus other families, groups of friends, companies, etc, who are also racing, this competitive nature takes individuals minds off of the recent monetary downfall. And as for excitement, the indoor track provides perfect conditions at all times of day every day, making it perfect for razing the bar on excitement for those who know how to handle them properly. The sound of engines revving and the high beams that fly by can’t help but get even the toughest hearts pounding a little causing your family for a brief moment to forget about this current financial situation.
Now, more than ever, the fun that friends and families get for their dollar has to be worth it. More and more people are finding that spending a day or afternoon racing indoor karts is a pleasing leisure activity. Food is included in some riding packages and is a fantastic value. And while everyone appreciates the good time, whoever is paying will appreciate that indoor karting in particular is a great value for the money.
